Alison is a computer consultant based in NYC. Her interests include climate and energy, her family and friends, travel, and chocolate, not necessarily in that order. She has been the NY Chapter Lead Ambassador since 2013.
Sarah, from Raleigh, NC, received a bachelors in environmental technology, a masters in crop science from NC State University, and now works as an environmental consultant in downtown Raleigh. She has always been passionate about environmental issues, particularly in ocean conservation and sustainability practices. Her background in volunteering with various organizations led her to the EDF Ambassadors Program in the fall of 2013. Sarah is now a Lead Ambassador for the North Carolina Chapter.
Amanda is the Co-Lead Ambassador of the San Fran Chapter. A true Californian, Amanda grew up in Sonoma and now calls the Bay area her home. Working to protect the California environment has always been a priority to Amanda. She became an EDF Ambassador in 2013.
Cathy, a Boston native, is an MIT political science graduate. Toward the end of her career in transportation planning, she began studying climate change, and soon took an early retirement to become a full-time volunteer activist. When she learned of the EDF Ambassadors Program, she applied immediately and was grateful to affiliate with the work of EDF. Cathy is also a Climate Reality speaker and chairs the MA chapter of the Sierra Club.
Eric, originally from Atlanta, GA, has been working as a Software Engineer in the Bay Area for 10 years. Eric started to be concerned about the environment since middle school when his friend told him that global warming posed a danger to the very existence of human life. He has been looking for ways to avoid that ever since. In 2008 he created an event to inspire people to fight climate change, and in researching which organizations to back, EDF came out as a clear leader. As an engineer, he wants to see efficient, effective solutions, and that’s what EDF excels at. After limited success doing it alone, he realized with the help of the EDF Ambassador program, he could do more, and has been organizing events with them for the last two years.
